Never too old for your dreams.

There is one thing that hurts my heart more than anything.

It's when a nurse talks themselves out of their dreams.

The main reason?

Because of their age.

I see it in nursing groups and hear from my clients.

"I am too old to..."

They use this to justify why they cannot go back to school, start a new job, quit a job they hate, start dating again, why they are not marketable.

If you have ever used your age against yourself or your dreams, this post is for you.

Your age does not determine what you can do or do not do, your mindset does.

Need proof?

Madam CJ Walker started her own product line at age 37.

Martha Stewart wrote her first book at age 41.

Samuel Jackson was 46 before he got his big break in Pulp Fiction.

Julia Child began her PBS cooking show at 51.

Colonel Sanders founded KFC at 65.

Dorothy Davenhill Hirsch when to the North Pole at 89.

I could go on.

BUT the only difference between these people and you, is they are not questioning if their age means they are past their prime.

They got to work on their dreams and didn't look to other people's opinions.

And the same can be true for you too.

All it takes is a decision that your age will not stop you from success.

So if you want to become an NP at 40, 50, 60 you do you.

If you want to get your PhD at 65, do it.

Because it is your life and you get to decide what rules you wish to live by.

The ones that hold you back.

Or the ones who are committed to making your dreams happen.

I believe in you and all your possibilities,

Mary B.
